Ransomware

Insider threats are the biggest threat to you cyber security. Whether it was intentional such as disgruntled employee or just an employee not following proper security protocol or processes, regardless of the intent, you are at risk.


What do you do in your business to monitor, catch or prevent such incidents?


Do you have multifactor authentication on all devices and applications?


Do you have periodic internal audits?


Do you have a security policy that establishes all rules that need to be followed and how do you confirm all of those rules are pushed out to all end users. For example, password resets, patching, and updates.


Can you identify if someone has plugged in an external device into your network and has pulled information down or has forwarded information to someone that should not have access?


Do you have a way to ensure all metadata is in tacked and that someone has not modified the information?


Do you have your business continuity plan set in case something happens?


What security do you have in place that notifies you of breaches?


Do you have more than one security service?


Is your company willing to take the chance of having a ransomware attack? How important is the information you have stored?


What happens when a laptop is stolen?


What information and access does that laptop have? How long does it take to replace that laptop and provide that access again?


How long is the average person, who needs a laptop replaced, non productive?
